Glass coatings, simply
- They bond to the glass itself, so rain beads up and blows off.
- Polish the glass first to remove film and water spots, panel-wipe, then apply.
- Worn wiper blades can judder on coated glass; fresh blades fix it.
Glass has two separate problems: film on the surface and minerals bonded into it. Cleaners handle the first — traffic film, plasticiser haze inside, fingerprints — and a good one is alcohol-free so it is safe on tint and coatings. Glass polish with cerium oxide handles the second, because water spots and rain etching are in the glass, not on it. Then a glass sealant such as Soft99 Glaco keeps the windscreen clear at speed for months. This collection holds all three stages plus the cloths that do not streak.
Why cerium oxide and not a paint compound, and why cheap glass cleaners streak: car glass cleaner chemistry. For the Glaco range specifically, see every Glaco compared.
