Automotive leather is a coated surface, not bare hide, and most of what goes wrong with it is dye transfer from jeans, hand oils and UV — not dryness. So the routine is a mild cleaner, then a protectant that stops dye transfer and friction wear, with a conditioner only where the leather is genuinely uncoated or aged. Alkaline degreasers age leather faster than anything else you can do to it — stay with pH-neutral cleaners on leather.
