What makes Feynlab different

The coating heals itself. Feynlab's self-healing coatings use an elastomeric nano-resin that stays slightly flexible once cured. Apply gentle heat — sun, warm water, a heat gun on low — and the film relaxes and re-levels, so light swirl marks and wash marring vanish instead of accumulating. It works on shallow marring in the coating layer, not deep scratches in your clear coat — we'd rather say that plainly than oversell it.

It's a whole system, not one bottle. A coating is only as good as the paint under it, so Feynlab pairs its coatings with a matched correction and prep line and coating-safe maintenance — the finish you seal in is the finish you keep.

Which Feynlab coating

DIY, first coating. The Original (Push to Start) is the friendly entry point — genuine ceramic gloss and protection with a forgiving application window.

The flagship. Ceramic Ultra V3 is Feynlab's flagship Biphasal coating — rated six years on the current packaging — and, since October 2026, no longer restricted to certified installers: anyone can buy it. It still demands proper levelling and flash control, so if you don't coat cars for a living, start with The Original, ask us for guidance before you open the bottle, or book us to apply Ultra.

Matte & satin paint. Feynlab Matte protects without adding gloss — the right call for matte wraps and factory satin, rated to three years.

PPF & vinyl. PPF & Vinyl V3 is formulated to bond safely to film and wraps, keeping them hydrophobic and easier to clean.

Beyond paint, the range also covers wheels & calipers, trim, glass, industrial and marine surfaces — ask us which suits your project.

Prep and correction — don't skip it

Coatings bond to bare, oil-free paint. Panel Prep strips polishing oils and fillers so nothing sits between the resin and your clear coat — skip it and the coating fails early. Correct first with Feynlab's polishing system: A50 super-heavy cut for hard clear, A500 as a one-step, and A1000 to refine to a swirl-free finish.

Keeping it alive

Maintenance is what makes a coating's hydrophobics last. Hybrid Ceramic Detailer tops up water behaviour after each wash, and Overcoat V3 refreshes the sacrificial top layer without a full recoat.

A chemist's note

Paolo holds a degree in chemistry and won't publish a claim he can't stand behind. Self-healing is real, but it heals marring, not gouges. Ultra V3 and Industrial V2 are now sold to all buyers in Australia; that does not make preparation, levelling or product-specific safety guidance optional. The Original vs Ultra V3 vs the self-healing range?

The Original (formerly Ceramic Lite) is the DIY entry coating — real ceramic gloss and hydrophobics with a forgiving application window. Ceramic Ultra V3 is Feynlab's flagship Biphasal coating, rated six years on the current packaging, and since October 2026 available to everyone rather than certified installers only. Is Feynlab self-healing real, or marketing?

Real, within limits. Feynlab's self-healing technology is a memory-polymer: ceramic polymer chains with smart nano-particles that return the film to its cured state when heated. Feynlab describes it as healing micro-defects and light swirl marks in the coating layer. It does not repair scratches in the clearcoat beneath, and it is not rock-chip protection — that is the job of paint protection film, which we coat with Feynlab PPF & Vinyl V3.

Can I install Feynlab myself?

The Original and the surface-specific coatings (Window, Plastic, Wheel & Caliper, PPF & Vinyl) are designed for competent DIY application after proper prep. Ultra V3 is now sold to anyone, but its levelling and flash timing still punish a first-timer — ask us for guidance before you start. Industrial V2 can be purchased without installer accreditation in Australia. Follow its product-specific preparation, application and safety instructions, and ask us for guidance if you are unsure. We sell what suits the buyer, and we will tell you if that is a booking rather than a bottle.

What surfaces can Feynlab coat?

Paint, paint protection film and vinyl wraps, glass, painted wheels and brake calipers, plastic trim, matte paint, and marine and industrial substrates. Feynlab formulates separately per surface rather than relabelling one coating, so use the product made for the surface you are coating.

How long does a Feynlab coating cure, and what is the aftercare?

Follow the cure window on the product's own data sheet — it differs by coating. As a rule for any ceramic coating, keep the car out of rain, automatic washes and harsh chemicals during the initial cure, then maintain with pH-neutral washing (Feynlab Pure Wash or Pure Rinseless V3) and top up the hydrophobics with Hybrid Ceramic Detailer or Overcoat V3. Abrasion from contact washing is the main way any coating fails early.

Do I need Panel Prep before coating?

Yes. Coatings bond to bare, oil-free paint. Panel Prep removes polishing oils and fillers left after correction so the resin bonds to the clearcoat, not to a film of oil. Skipping it is the most common reason a coating underperforms.

How does Feynlab compare to Labocosmetica or Koch Chemie?

Feynlab's strength is surface-specific coating chemistry and its self-healing memory-polymer range. Labocosmetica's strength is its integrated 3-pH wash and decontamination system; Koch Chemie's is paint-correction compounds and professional wash chemistry. Most well-equipped detailers use all three — we retail and apply all three.
