Clay Bars and Lubricants

Clay removes what chemistry can't. After alkaline, acid and iron stages have dissolved their targets, some contamination remains physically embedded in the clear coat — overspray, industrial fallout, bonded grit your hand can feel as roughness on the panel. Clay bars and synthetic clay shear these particles off mechanically, and the lubricant is not optional: it's the slip layer that lets the clay glide instead of dragging contamination across the paint.
