SMOOTH EGG Clay Bar — 2x 50g Clay Bar Features SMOOTH EGG Clay Bar gently removes iron powders and deposits from glass/ ceramic coatings. The mechanical step between washing and waxing: lifts bonded contaminants (iron, overspray, tar residue, tree sap) that shampoo can't shift.
The chemistry. A pliable polymer clay engineered to pick up bonded contaminants (iron, paint overspray, road tar residue, tree sap) that a normal wash leaves behind. Used with a clay lubricant, it slides across the paint and lifts contaminants mechanically without scratching the clear coat.
Why this tin. Wash car, removing sand and dust from the body of vehicle.
Why clay before you wax. Run your fingers over a washed panel — if it feels rough, there are bonded contaminants the shampoo couldn't lift. A wax or sealant applied over contamination bonds poorly and traps it in. Clay bar decontamination is the step every serious detail starts with.
How to use. Wash the car first. Keep the clay and panel well-lubricated with dedicated clay lubricant or a quick detailer. Work one section at a time in straight motions — never circles. Fold and knead the clay when the surface darkens.
