A good all-purpose cleaner replaces half a shelf of single-use sprays. Dilute it strong for engine bays, wheel arches and ground-in grime, and light for door shuts, plastics and upholstery. What matters is chemistry that cleans hard without discolouring fabric or drying out trim.

Before you spray
Test on a hidden area first, especially on leather, Alcantara, piano-black trim and older plastics. Work in the shade and never let an APC dry on the surface: wipe or rinse it off while it's still wet.
