Bilt Hamber Trace-Less | Super-Wetting Residue-Free Glass Cleaner
The problem with glass cleaners
Almost every glass cleaner leaves something behind. The surfactant that lets it sheet across the glass doesn't evaporate — it dries, and it smears. You end up chasing streaks around a windscreen at dusk, which is exactly when you notice them.
What Bilt Hamber claim
Trace-Less uses what Bilt Hamber describe as "unique super-wetting, 100% evaporating surfactants" alongside powerful, non-abrasive cleaners. The surfactant wets the glass instantly and uniformly — so the product doesn't run off before it's done anything — and then it leaves entirely.
The other claim worth having: it does not leave a hydrophobic coating and will not damage or remove quality glass sealants or rain repellents. If you've spent money coating your glass, a cleaner that strips it is an expensive mistake. This one won't.
What we can't tell you
We're going to be unusually blunt here, because this is exactly the kind of thing our customers care about.
Bilt Hamber do not publish a safety data sheet for Trace-Less. We looked — it isn't on their site, and it isn't held by any retailer we could find. That means the composition is not publicly verifiable.
So: you will see this product described elsewhere as "ammonia-free" and "safe for tinted windows." Those are retailer claims, not Bilt Hamber claims. Bilt Hamber say nothing about ammonia or tint on this product — and notably, they do give an explicit tint warning on Re-View, so their silence here shouldn't be read as clearance. Bilt Hamber also classify Trace-Less as hazardous for shipping, which is consistent with a volatile solvent, but they never say what it is and we're not going to guess.
We'd rather sell you a product with an honest gap in its paperwork than repeat someone else's marketing as fact. If you have aftermarket tint and this matters to you, test an inconspicuous corner first — or talk to us.
How to use it
Shake well. Cool glass, out of direct sun.
Exterior: a fine mist, wipe while wet with a waffle-weave towel, buff dry. For the best finish, follow with a second fine mist and a suede microfibre.
Interior: spray onto the cloth, never onto the glass — you don't want overspray on your dash or screens.
Ready to use, no dilution.
