Feynlab® Industrial Re-Set is an acidic surface prep that removes residue and lightly etches painted and coated equipment surfaces into a uniform finish ready for coating. It is Step 2 in Feynlab's Industrial Prep System, used after Industrial Degreaser has cleared the heavy grease and oil.

Not for polished finishes

Re-Set is acidic. Feynlab states it can visually diminish and dull a polished finish, so it must not be used on polished surfaces.

How it works

Feynlab says Re-Set blends organic and inorganic acids with specialty surfactants for controlled etching and strong residue removal, without relying on hydrofluoric-acid (HF) chemistry. It foams on application, which Feynlab says improves dwell time and coverage on vertical panels and irregular equipment surfaces. The aim is a clean, uniformly prepared surface that the coating can bond to evenly.

Approved surfaces

Per Feynlab: painted metal equipment surfaces, powder-coated components, construction equipment panels and frames, agricultural machinery, rubber tracks and tyres, and steel and aluminium surfaces.

How to use (Feynlab's published method)

  1. Complete Step 1 with Industrial Degreaser first.
  2. Apply to a wet surface, spraying evenly across the area. Lightly agitate if needed.
  3. Allow a short dwell and rinse thoroughly with water.
  4. Persistent hydrophobic contamination: lightly scuff with 3000-grit sandpaper, then reapply Re-Set.
  5. Finish with a final panel-prep wipe using a clean microfibre towel before coating.

Specifications

Size: 500ml bottle. Chemistry (per Feynlab): a blend of organic and inorganic acids with specialty surfactants, not relying on HF-based chemistry. Role: Step 2 in the Feynlab Industrial Prep System, used after Industrial Degreaser.

Before you use it

Feynlab does not publish a pH, the specific acids used or a dilution rate on its product page, so check the label and safety data sheet for how to use it before you open it. Wear gloves and eye protection, and keep it off polished finishes.

Chemistry and performance descriptions above are Feynlab's own. The glove and eye protection note is our general safety advice.
