Feynlab® Leveling Aid is a wipe-off aid used during ceramic coating installation. It helps with the final wipe, levelling the coating and buffing the panel clear. Feynlab recommends it for Heal Lite and Ceramic Plus.
When it is used
Feynlab's directions describe using Leveling Aid on specific Feynlab coatings once they have been applied and have cured about 75%, to assist the final wipe-off. Feynlab's page also says it is compatible with coatings from other manufacturers. Feynlab does not publish the product's composition.
How to use (Feynlab's published method)
- Work in a controlled environment, ideally 10–30°C with humidity as low as possible. Feynlab's climate notes, written for its coatings, say to consider lessening dwell and wipe times when humidity approaches 75% or higher.
- Wear a respirator and gloves, and make sure the panel is free of loose contamination.
- Apply 3–5 sprays to a clean microfibre towel. For each section (half a door or a quarter of a bonnet), add 3–4 more sprays and spread evenly over the surface. Use enough to coat the area evenly without over-saturating it.
- Flip the towel and buff the area clear in the same pattern as application, or use a second clean towel. Feynlab says an applicator pad can be used instead of a towel.
- Inspect each panel for leftover coating residue (high spots), especially edges, emblems and tight spaces. High spots are easier to remove within about 20–40 minutes of the final wipe.
Keep the cap on the bottle when not in use. After coating, Feynlab says to avoid incidental water for 24 hours and all chemicals, including car washes, for 7 days.
