Cloth Barrier Fabric Seat Coat — a fluoropolymer fabric barrier. Bonds to the fibres of seats or carpets, repelling both water-based and oil-based spills before they wick into the fabric.
The chemistry. A fluoropolymer fabric barrier. When sprayed on fabric seats or carpets, the fluoropolymer molecules bond to the fibres and create a low-surface-energy coat that repels water-based AND oil-based spills before they can wick into the fabric.
Why this tin. Just spray and spread with sponge, contain special fluorine (fusso) polymer creating a protective layer on top of your fabric seat.
Why fluoropolymer, not silicone. Silicone sprays repel water but collapse on oil. Fluoropolymer protection — the same chemistry used on waterproof outdoor clothing — repels both polar and non-polar liquids, so the stain sits on the surface long enough for you to blot it.
How to use. Vacuum and, if needed, shampoo the fabric first — the coating bonds to clean fibres. Spray evenly from ~20 cm away, let flash off, then brush gently to level the finish. Multiple thin coats outperform one heavy one.
