Yum Cars Yum Wax | Carnauba & Montan Liquid Wax 500ml

Yum Wax is a super slick, buttery liquid wax made with Brazilian carnauba and montan wax, strengthened with resins. It is a gloss product first — the warm, wet look only a natural wax gives — and it goes on and comes off without a fight.

The chemistry

Carnauba is the hardest natural wax there is and gives depth and warmth; montan wax is a mineral-derived wax that adds hardness and a higher melting point, which helps the film survive a hot panel. The Safety Data Sheet shows they are carried in a low-aromatic hydrocarbon solvent — the solvent keeps the waxes liquid in the bottle, then evaporates on the panel to leave the wax film behind. Resins in the blend reinforce that film.

Use it for

Uncoated daily drivers, show cars and anyone who enjoys the waxing ritual. Yum Cars state it is safe on painted, clear coated and gel coated surfaces and fibreglass, with a durability of around 4 weeks with correct maintenance, and that it can be layered after 24 hours for more gloss and protection.

Do not use on a ceramic coated vehicle. That is Yum Cars' own advice: wax sits on top of a coating and clogs it, masking the coating's water behaviour. On coated cars use Yum Ceramic or Yum Detailer instead.

How to use

Start with a clean, decontaminated and ideally clayed surface. Shake well. Apply a thin, even layer with a soft foam or microfibre applicator, one panel at a time, allow it to haze, then remove with a plush wax and sealant towel. Thin coats cure better and buff easier than thick ones. If you have applied Yum Ceramic, wait 12 hours before waxing over it.
