Yum Wash MF is a dedicated microfibre wash. It breaks down the waxes, sealants, polish oils and dressings that ordinary laundry detergent leaves behind, so your towels come out soft, bright and absorbent again instead of stiff and smeary.

The chemistry

Microfibre works because each split fibre has a huge surface area and open channels that trap dirt and water. Household detergents are full of fabric softeners, optical brighteners and fragrance carriers that coat those fibres and close the channels — that is how a towel loses its bite. The Safety Data Sheet shows Yum Wash MF is a pH-neutral blend of non-ionic surfactants, which are particularly good at emulsifying oils and waxes, with a chelating agent for hard water and none of the softeners. Yum Cars state it emulsifies protective products and leaves softer, brighter microfibre.

Use it for

All microfibre — drying towels, buffing cloths, wash pads, applicators and interior towels. Wash coating towels and heavily soiled wheel towels separately from your paint towels.

How to use

Use 30ml for a lightly soiled load and 60ml for larger or dirtier loads. For very dirty towels, pre-soak in warm water with a little product first. Wash warm, not hot, with no fabric softener, and dry on low heat or air dry — high heat melts the fibre tips and makes towels scratchy.

Common questions

Why not use normal laundry detergent on microfibre?
Household detergents contain fabric softeners and brighteners that coat the fibres and close the channels that make microfibre absorbent.

How much do I use?
30ml for a lightly soiled load and 60ml for larger or dirtier loads.

How should I dry microfibre towels?
Low heat or air dry. High heat melts the fibre tips and makes towels scratchy. Never use fabric softener.

Good to know

Available in 500ml, 1 litre and 5 litre. The concentrate can cause serious eye irritation — take care when pouring.
