Yum Cars Yum Panel Wipe | Coating Prep Degreaser

Yum Panel Wipe is the last step before protection goes on. It strips polishing oils, old wax, silicones and fingerprints so that a ceramic coating, sealant or PPF adhesive bonds to bare, clean paint rather than to residue.

The chemistry

A panel wipe needs two things: solvents that dissolve oils, and an evaporation rate slow enough to let you wipe the dissolved residue away before it re-deposits. The Safety Data Sheet shows isopropyl alcohol at 30–60% as the main solvent, backed by a glycol ether (1-methoxy-2-propanol) that evaporates more slowly and carries heavier oils and silicones. That pairing is what Yum Cars mean by "flash when you wipe off" — it stays wet long enough to work, then leaves nothing behind.

Use it for

Final wipe-down before ceramic coatings, sealants and waxes, checking your true finish after polishing, and removing residue from glass. Yum Cars state it is suitable for paint, glass, plastic and metal.

How to use

Work on a cool panel in the shade. Mist onto the panel or onto a short-pile towel, wipe in straight lines, then follow immediately with a second clean, dry towel. Turn your towels often. Yum Cars note it can be diluted 1:1 with water to make a gentler, general-purpose prep spray for more frequent use.
