Paint Serum IV is the middle of Yum Cars' coating range: a silicon carbide infused topcoat rated by Yum for 4 years of protection from a single application. Yum describe it as straightforward to apply yet engineered to professional standards.

Yum describe the Serum technology as a fully flexible coating that partially absorbs into the clear coat rather than sitting on top of it. Paint Serum IV adds what Yum call hybrid bonding technology and a silicon carbide infused topcoat for repellency and resistance. The 4-year figure is the manufacturer's; real-world durability depends on preparation, application conditions and maintenance.

Preparation and application

A coating locks in whatever is underneath it. The paint must be washed, decontaminated (tar, iron, clay), polished if needed, and wiped down with Yum Panel Wipe so it is completely free of oils and residue. Yum Cars specify that the Serum coatings be applied in a controlled indoor environment — temperature, humidity and airflow all affect the result. Apply to one small section at a time with the applicator, level and buff with clean short-pile towels, and keep the car dry while it cures. Follow the instructions supplied with the bottle.

50ml bottle. Yum Cars ask buyers to confirm they understand the requirements of ceramic coating installation and accept responsibility for its use.
