Compound Set

Compound Set — a 3-piece kit containing Cutting (300ml), Polishing (300ml), and Finishing (300ml) compounds. Soft99's full three-step paint correction system in one box, calibrated to work as a sequence rather than three independent products.

The chemistry

Three abrasive grades in matched water-based carriers. The progression is engineered: each stage clears the marring left by the previous stage, then sets up the next. Cutting Compound flattens the deep defects but leaves marring. Polishing Compound clears the cutting marks but leaves micro-haze. Finishing Compound clears the haze and brings the paint to mirror gloss.

Using them out of sequence, or skipping stages, defeats the calibration. The three-step system is the right approach for full paint correction.

Use it for

Full paint correction on a heavily oxidised vehicle, restoring deep gloss to a 5+ year-old daily driver, prep for a long-term ceramic coating, learning paint correction with a calibrated set rather than mixing-and-matching compounds.

How to use

Step 1: Cutting Compound on a foam cutting pad, work until clear, wipe. Step 2: Polishing Compound on a foam polishing pad, same process. Step 3: Finishing Compound on a foam finishing pad. Wipe and follow with a wax or coating. Allow 1-2 hours per panel for full three-stage correction.
