Bilt Hamber Cleanser-Polish | Ultra-Fine Abrasive Paint Refiner
A finishing polish, not a compound
Let's set the expectation correctly, because this is where people get disappointed. Cleanser-Polish is not a cutting compound and it is not a harsh abrasive polish. It will not remove a deep scratch and it will not fix serious defects.
What it is: a resin-based paint refining product containing ultra-fine abrasives — Bilt Hamber's own wording — that removes light oxidation, hologram-like scratching and minor paint defects. It's the last-stage refiner, and the all-in-one for paint that's tired rather than damaged.
The dual action
It works two ways at once. The ultra-fine abrasive refines the surface. The solvent and resin system cleans and fills — the same dearomatised petroleum distillate base as Cleanser-Fluid, at 30–50%.
Bilt Hamber do not disclose the abrasive type or grade, so we're not going to name one. Plenty of sites will tell you confidently what's in it. They don't know either.
Where it fits
Safe on all automotive finishes, including water-based paints and clear coats. Use it by hand with an applicator pad, or by machine.
It's the natural step after Auto-Clay — you've pulled the bonded contamination out, now you refine the surface. Then over-coat with Finis-Wax, Double Speed-Wax, Hydra-Wax or Auto-Balm.
Cleanser-Polish or Cleanser-Fluid?
Cleanser-Polish has abrasives — it corrects, lightly. Cleanser-Fluid has none — it only cleans. If the paint has haze, swirls or dullness, start here. If the paint is already right and you just want it clinically clean before protecting, use Cleanser-Fluid. On a full job you'd use both, in that order.
How to use it
Clay first. Applicator pad, circular motions, light-to-medium pressure — and note that more pressure means more cut, so you have some control over how hard it works. Let it dry to a haze, then buff off with a clean microfibre. Follow with your chosen last-stage protection.
Handle it properly
EUH066 — repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking. Nitrile gloves, ventilated area.
