Two products, two opposite pH values, two completely different jobs.
Road grime isn't one substance. Roughly half of what bonds to your paint is organic — traffic film, oils, insect residue, exhaust soot. The other half is inorganic — limescale from hard water, water spotting, acid-rain residue. No single-pH product removes both properly, which is why a car can look clean and still feel rough.
PRÌMUS 2.0 — ALKALINE, pH 11
The alkaline half. Prìmus 2.0 was the world's first pre-wash to earn VDA certification — independent German testing for safety on automotive surfaces. It lifts organic soil and traffic film so the mitt has far less work to do. Dilute 1:5 in winter, 1:10 in summer, foam on, dwell five minutes, rinse.
PURÌFICA — THE ACID SHAMPOO
Labocosmetica call Purìfica "the only acid shampoo that has revolutionised the car detailing landscape", and shampoo is the right word — it isn't only a pre-wash. It works through a foam gun and in the bucket. It's VDA certified and free of HF and ABF acids, the aggressive fluorides used in cheap acid cleaners.
Its pH moves with dilution, which is what lets one bottle work as both an aggressive decontaminant and a contact wash.

WHEN TO PUT IT IN THE BUCKET
Reach for the bucket dilution when inorganic contamination is the problem — hard-water spotting, mineral film, the dull grey cast that comes back a week after a normal wash. Foaming an acid on and rinsing it off relies on chemistry alone. Washing with it adds mechanical action, and the two together shift mineral deposits that neither does as well on its own: the acid softens and dissolves the deposit while the mitt lifts it off the surface.
At 1:400 it sits around pH 5 — mildly acidic, not aggressive — so it's a wash you can do when the car needs it, not a once-a-season strip.
