Koch Chemie Orange Power (OP) — Natural Adhesive, Tree Resin & Tar Remover 1L

Koch Chemie Orange Power (OP) is a natural citrus-based solvent cleaner that removes adhesive residue, tree sap, tar, chewing gum, rubber marks, and ink stains — without the harsh halogenated solvents found in traditional adhesive removers. Made from D-limonene, a terpene extracted from orange peels, OP works by dissolving non-polar hydrocarbon residues at the molecular level while being gentle enough for use on paint, glass, and most interior surfaces.

The chemistry: why D-limonene works

Most adhesives, tar, tree sap, and rubber marks are non-polar hydrocarbon compounds. They resist water-based cleaners because water is polar — oil and water don't mix, and neither do glue and shampoo. To dissolve these residues, you need a non-polar solvent.

Traditional adhesive removers achieve this with halogenated hydrocarbons (think chlorinated solvents like dichloromethane). They work, but they're aggressive, environmentally damaging, and can attack paint clear coat if left on too long. D-limonene is the natural alternative — it's a cyclic terpene with the formula C₁₀H₁₆, non-polar, and highly effective at breaking apart adhesive polymers and natural resins. It happens to smell like oranges because it's literally from oranges.

What Orange Power removes

Adhesive residue. Price stickers, dealership badges, vehicle graphics, decal residue, double-sided tape.

Tree sap and resin. The bane of any car parked under a tree — oak, pine, eucalyptus sap all dissolve cleanly with D-limonene.

Tar and asphalt. Road tar on rocker panels and behind wheels lifts off instead of needing abrasive removal.

Rubber marks. Shoe scuffs on sills, transfer from weather strips, tyre rub marks.

Chewing gum. On carpets, seats, or exterior — softens it enough to lift out.

Ink and greasy fingerprints. From interior plastics and painted surfaces.

How to use it

Surface test first. Always check colour-fastness and material compatibility on a hidden spot before using on interior fabric or sensitive plastics. D-limonene is a solvent — it will dissolve some plastics if left on too long.

On hard surfaces (paint, glass, metal, ceramic): apply undiluted to a dry absorbent cloth or spray directly onto the residue. Let dwell for 1–3 minutes. Wipe off with a clean microfibre, or flush with a pressure washer / steam device for heavier contamination.

On interior trim and carpets: apply to the cloth first, not directly to the surface. Agitate the residue, then wipe. Follow up with an all-purpose cleaner to remove any residual citrus oil.

Don't: use on PPF, freshly-applied vinyl wraps, or plastic trim that's sun-degraded. Don't leave pooled on paint under direct sunlight.

Why we stock it

Orange Power sits in the sweet spot between aggressive solvents and ineffective "natural" cleaners. Koch Chemie's formulation is professional-grade — the same product German dealerships and pre-delivery specialists use to strip adhesive and resin off new vehicles. For detailers working on luxury or classic cars, it's the safe default when you need real solvent power without risking the paint.

Pairs well with a steam cleaner for stubborn residue and a good all-purpose cleaner to finish the surface.
